Josh Oyinsan and Mimii Ngulube, a Nigerian couple, have made history as the winners of the eleventh edition of the British reality TV dating show Love Island. This victory marks a significant milestone as they become the first-ever black couple to win the competition.
The couple emerged triumphant over Welsh contestants Nicole Samuel and Ciaran Davies, who finished as runners-up. Fellow islanders Matilda Draper and Sean Stone secured third place, while another Nigerian pair, Ayo Odukoya and Jessica Spencer, took fourth place.
Host Maya Jama announced the results on Monday, revealing that Josh and Mimii received the highest percentage of the public vote. As winners, they were awarded a £50,000 cash prize.
Josh, a 29-year-old Nigerian-British footballer and model, and Mimii, a 24-year-old mental health nurse and actress, shared their excitement about their future plans post-show. Josh expressed his eagerness to spend quality time with Mimii away from the spotlight and to connect with her family and friends.
