Nigerian singer Young Jonn has revealed that his journey into the music industry was entirely unplanned. In a recent interview with Revolt, the artist, who originally started as a producer, shared that he never set out to be a performer—fate simply had other plans.
“I never really planned to be an artist, but life played out,” he confessed.
Reflecting on his shift from a producer to a singer, Young Jonn described the transition as a significant learning experience. “It was a learning process. It’s a whole different ball game. It’s a whole different hustle, grind and business. It took me time, but I think I’m getting hold of it,” he said.
During his initial steps as an artist, Young Jonn drew inspiration from industry heavyweights such as Olamide, Kizz Daniel, and Lil Kesh. His early career involved working closely with Olamide’s YBNL Nation, where he produced numerous tracks for Lil Kesh, Olamide himself, and other artists within the label.
