Ace comedian Chibuike Josh Alfred, widely recognized as Josh2Funny, has shed light on the competitive nature of Nigeria’s comedy and content-creating scene. In a candid discussion on ‘The Honest Bunch’ podcast, Josh2Funny dismissed claims that the industry lacks competition, branding such assertions as mere sugar-coating.

Josh2Funny asserted that despite the growing landscape of content creators, he perceives no competition within his realm. His skits, renowned for their humor and originality, have reached international audiences, being translated into languages such as Mandarin, Hindi, Russian, and French. This global reach underscores his unique position in the industry.

However, Josh2Funny expressed frustration over the lack of recognition he receives when others replicate his creative trends and styles. He made it clear that he does not tolerate imitation without proper credit. “What I won’t take is for people to be copying what I initiated without crediting me. No, I won’t take that,” he stated firmly.

His comments highlight a broader issue within the industry, where the originality of creators is often overshadowed by unacknowledged copies. Josh2Funny emphasized the reality of competition within the comedy space, challenging the notion that it is a non-contentious field.

He further emphasized his distinctive position in the industry, stating, “Let nobody tell you that there’s no competition in the comedy industry. There’s competition… As we speak now, my comedy is interpreted in Mandarin, Hindi, Russian, French, and other languages. I’m not with you guys, bro. I’m not anybody’s mate in this comedy industry.”
