Operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS) in Kano have arrested a key suspect involved in the kidnapping of Hajiya Hauwa’u Adamu, the mother of renowned political singer Dauda Kahutu Rarara.
In a covert operation, the DSS operatives also killed one suspect and recovered N26.5 million. A high-ranking source in the DSS Command revealed that the Kano command’s tactical team, acting on reliable intelligence, apprehended a gang of five bandits in the Makarfi bushes while they were sharing the ransom.
“Hamisu Tukur is currently in custody with gunshot injuries, while Bature was killed,” the source said.
The armed men had broken into the residence of Rarara’s mother in Kahutu and abducted her about three weeks ago. She regained her freedom after spending 20 days in captivity.
