Reps Gift N100 Million to Nigerian Olympic Team

The House of Representatives has donated N100 million to support the Nigerian Olympic team for the upcoming Paris Olympics. The announcement was made by Deputy Speaker Ben Kalu during a plenary session on Wednesday, where the House hosted the Minister of Sport, John Enoh, and the Olympic team.

 

Deputy Speaker Kalu revealed that the funds would be sourced from the salaries of the members of the House. “The money is coming from our salaries,” Kalu stated.

 

In addition to the collective donation, Aminu Balele, Chairman of the House Committee on Army, personally donated N3 million to the team during the plenary.
