Samsung unveiled One UI 6.1.1 with the Galaxy Z Flip 6 and the Galaxy Z Fold 6 last week, and some of those features are coming to older devices. One such feature is AstroPortrait, which is coming soon to the Galaxy S23 and Galaxy S24.

After announcing the Galaxy Z Flip 6 and the Galaxy Z Fold 6, Samsung revealed that the AstroPortrait feature will soon be available on the Galaxy S23 and Galaxy S24 series. The new feature will be available through the Expert RAW app and may be activated after the One UI 6.1.1-based software update. Since Samsung releases x.1.1 updates only for its foldable phones and tablets, the One UI 6.1.1-based update for the Galaxy S23 and Galaxy S24 could be labelled as One UI 6.1.

Unfortunately, it doesn’t look like the new feature will be released for the Galaxy Z Flip 5 and the Galaxy Z Fold 5.

AstroPortrait mode is part of the Expert RAW app. It allows you to capture portrait images with the night sky in the background. This feature was leaked a few weeks ago. In such images, the sky is captured in a long exposure setting, allowing stars, planets, and other cosmic bodies to appear brighter and more clearly.

This feature debuted with the Galaxy Z Flip 6 and the Galaxy Z Fold 6, and it appears to be compatible only with high-end phones featuring the Exynos 2400, Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 For Galaxy, or Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 For Galaxy processors.
