Nigerian-American actress Osas Ighodaro has opened up about her early life and entry into the world of acting during a recent episode of Pulse One-on-One.

Raised in New York within a strictly Nigerian household, Osas recounted her upbringing with a blend of American and Nigerian influences. “Even outside the house, it’s like, ‘Remember who your family is and behave yourself,'” she shared, describing her childhood as beautiful and grounded in her family’s cultural values.

Osas revealed that her introduction to acting came during her teenage years, despite her parents’ initial resistance to her pursuing a career in the arts. “I had to do a lot of convincing and crying, but I think I’m also stubborn; I’m a strong-headed individual when I want something,” she admitted.

Her first exposure to acting occurred after attending modeling school, which helped her overcome low self-esteem. “The president of that school offered me a scholarship to take acting classes. I wasn’t exposed to acting till I was 13, then I took my first acting class, and I never turned back since,” she recounted. From that moment on, she fell in love with the craft and has pursued it passionately ever since.
