Lil Durk’s 10-year-old son allegedly shot his stepdad, Joshua Pippens, during a domestic dispute involving the boy’s mother. Surveillance footage captured the moment the child, in a red t-shirt and shorts, grabbed a weapon from Pippens, aimed, and fired.
The video shows Pippens, dressed in orange, attempting to restrain the child’s mother, who is wearing purple. During the confrontation, the child can be seen pointing the gun at Pippens and firing a single shot, causing Pippens to fall to the ground.
The incident occurred on July 1. From his hospital bed, Pippens spoke out on Instagram, claiming he was not the aggressor and that the child acted on the mother’s instructions. He stated, “As y’all can see, I was not the aggressor. The child grabbed my gun off my hip following his mom’s lead and shot me.”
Pippens suggested the argument might have been about custody arrangements. “That’s why I got custody of my kids and she don’t. Y’all so internet think [sic] god it was me that took the shot and not her,” he wrote.
Rapper Lil Durk has yet to comment on the incident.
