Capcom has officially announced the development of a new Resident Evil game. The much-anticipated news was revealed during the conclusion of the Capcom Next streaming event. Koshi Nakanishi, the director behind Resident Evil 7: Biohazard, will lead the project. In a YouTube video, Nakanishi shared his excitement, stating:

“We are making a new Resident Evil. It was really difficult to figure out what to do after 7. But I found it, and to be honest, it feels substantial. I can’t share any details just yet, but I hope you’re excited for the day I can.”

While no additional details about the new game were disclosed, Capcom announced that Resident Evil 7: Biohazard is now available on Apple’s App Store for iPhone, iPad, and Mac. The initial parts of the game are free, with the full base game priced at $19.99 and an additional DLC pack for $20.

Resident Evil Village, the latest installment in the series, was a critical and commercial success, selling over 10 million units by March 2024 since its 2021 release.

Additionally, Capcom Next announced the launch of Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster on September 19 for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X and S. This remaster will feature enhanced graphics, improved character models, textures, lighting, auto-saving, refined controls, and updates to the user interface.
