The Zamfara State command of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC) has issued a stern warning to phone sellers in the state to refrain from buying stolen phones. The warning, issued by the State Commandant, Dani Mustapha, also extends to scrap dealers, urging them to stop trading in vandalized properties.
During a meeting with the state leadership of the Amalgamated Traders Association at the command headquarters in Gusau, Mustapha emphasized that such practices are dangerous and illegal. The commandant highlighted the NSCDC’s authority under the enabling Act of 2023, part (1) section 3 (g), which empowers the corps to monitor trade associations nationwide.
Mustapha called for transparency in business operations among traders, urging them to contribute positively to the state’s security efforts.
Muhammad Zubairu, the leader of the traders’ team, praised the NSCDC for its dedication to combating crime and social vices in Zamfara. He noted that the visit aimed to strengthen ties between the association and the corps.
