China Urges U.S. to Stop Plundering Syria’s Resources

China has called on the United States to cease its illegal troop deployment in Syria and halt the plundering of the country’s resources. This statement was made by Mao Ning, a spokesperson for the Chinese foreign ministry, during a press briefing on Wednesday.

The appeal followed reports alleging that the U.S. military is involved in the illegal transportation of Syrian wheat, using over 10 trucks daily to smuggle grains out of the country. Mao Ning highlighted that Syria, once a wheat exporter, now faces severe food insecurity, with around 55% of its population affected.

Ning accused the United States of exploiting resources under the pretense of anti-terrorism efforts and violating human rights and sovereignty. She urged the U.S. to respect Syria’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, stop the exploitation, and take responsibility for the humanitarian crises it has caused.
