Professor Abdulrasheed Na’Allah formally over administration of the University of Abuja’s activities to Professor Aisha Maikudi, who will serve as acting vice chancellor. This move signals the conclusion of Na’Allah’s time as vice chancellor, which he has held since July 1, 2019.
Before his appointment at the University of Abuja, Na’Allah served as the vice chancellor of Kwara State University in Malete, Kwara State, where he was instrumental in the institution’s growth and development. His academic journey began at the University of Ilorin, where he earned his bachelor’s degree in 1988 and a master’s degree in 1992. He later pursued a doctorate in comparative literature at the University of Alberta in Edmonton, Canada.
Under Na’Allah’s leadership, the University of Abuja witnessed significant advancements in academic programs, infrastructure, and research initiatives. His tenure was marked by efforts to elevate the university’s status both nationally and internationally, fostering partnerships and collaborations with other institutions and organizations.
As Prof. Aisha Maikudi takes over as acting vice chancellor, the university community anticipates a continuation of the progress and improvements initiated during Na’Allah’s administration. Maikudi, a distinguished scholar and administrator, brings a wealth of experience and a fresh perspective to the role. Her appointment is expected to ensure a seamless transition and maintain the momentum of development at the University of Abuja.
