In a recent interview on Arise TV, renowned Nigerian actress Funke Akindele opened up about why she has distanced herself from former close friend Eniola Badmus and other colleagues in the entertainment industry.
Funke revealed that despite her cordial relationships with industry peers, she has never had deep friendships outside of her siblings. She attributed this to her busy schedule, which revolves around work commitments, family time, and personal pursuits like watching movies and relaxing with her children.
“I think my siblings are my friends. I have people that I’m cordial with, but not serious friendships like that,” Funke shared during the interview. She emphasized her preference for spending time in her own space rather than attending social gatherings or parties.
Regarding her friendship with Eniola Badmus, Funke expressed fondness for her and reminisced about enjoying their time together. However, she noted that their busy lives and individual career paths have naturally led them to grow apart over time.
“Eniola Badmus cracks me up so much. I love to chill with her. But, we have been so busy with life. Everybody is doing their thing,” Funke explained, reflecting on how the demands of their respective careers have influenced their relationship.
Throughout the interview, Funke Akindele highlighted her commitment to her work, including running a studio and consistently producing films for cinemas and streaming platforms. Despite maintaining professional relationships with her industry peers, her focus remains on her career and family, underscoring her dedication to her craft and personal life.
