Grammy-winning artist Wizkid has been building anticipation for his sixth album, titled ‘Morayo,’ set for release later in 2024. During an interactive session with fans on Twitter on June 24, 2024, Wizkid confirmed that the album would feature Nigerian artists.
This news aligns with Wizkid’s history of including fellow Nigerian artists in his projects. On his EP ‘S2,’ released in December 2023, he collaborated with Wande Coal on the track ‘Ololufe’ and featured rapper Zlatan on the lead single ‘IDK,’ which reached the top 10 on the TurnTable Top 100 chart.
‘Morayo,’ a tribute to Wizkid’s late mother, has generated significant buzz, especially with sightings of Wizkid in the studio with Nigerian artists like Shallipopi, Odumodublvck, and Omah Lay. Fans are eagerly awaiting the final list of collaborators on the album.
Wizkid’s recent activity on social media has further fueled excitement for the album. Despite his controversial statement that he is no longer an Afrobeats artist and his suggestion that Afrobeats fans should not listen to his next album, anticipation remains high for ‘Morayo.’
