Governor Jeff Landry of Louisiana has signed a groundbreaking law that requires the display of the biblical 10 Commandments in all public school classrooms, from kindergarten through state-funded universities. This legislation, signed on Wednesday, is the first of its kind in the United States and mandates that the biblical text be prominently displayed starting in 2025.

During the signing, Landry emphasized the significance of the 10 Commandments in understanding the rule of law, stating, “If you want to respect the rule of law, you gotta start from the original law given — which was Moses.”

The new law specifies that the 10 Commandments must be displayed as a poster or framed document, printed in a large, easily readable font.

However, the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) has expressed strong opposition to the law, arguing that it violates the separation of church and state and is blatantly unconstitutional. The ACLU has threatened legal action in response to the legislation.
