The event, held at The Forum, saw Lamar perform ‘Not Like Us’ five times to an enthusiastic crowd, reinforcing the song’s popularity and record-breaking streaming success on Spotify.
During his performance of ‘Euphoria’, Lamar modified the lyrics to send a direct message to Drake: “Give me Tupac’s ring back and I might give you a little respect.” This remark references Drake’s purchase of 2Pac’s ring for $1 million, which he flaunted in the music video for his Kendrick Lamar diss track ‘Family Matters’.
Billboard reports that Drake has boasted about the ring, even using AI to feature 2Pac and Snoop Dogg in his diss track ‘Taylormade Freestyle’, where he called Lamar a disappointment to Compton rap legends. Lamar, who considers 2Pac a major influence, underscored his connection to the late rapper by performing ‘California Love’ with Dr. Dre during the show.
