Kogi State Governor, Ahmed Usman Ododo, signed six bills into law on Thursday. The newly enacted laws include:
1. Law to Repeal and Re-enact the Kogi State Local Government Service Commission Law 2014
2. Law to Repeal and Re-enact the Kogi State Scholarship Board Edict, 1998
3. Law to Establish the Kogi State Electricity Market and the Kogi State Electricity Regulatory Commission
4. Law to Establish the Kogi State Anti-Corruption Agency
5. Kogi State Commodity Exchange, Export Promotion and Market Development Agency Law
6. Kogi State Information Technology Development Agency Law
Governor Ododo encouraged the people of Kogi State to embrace these new laws, describing them as “people’s laws.” He emphasized that the bills align with his commitment to transparency, accountability, and governance with the fear of God.
“These laws will serve as catalysts for the rapid social and economic development of Kogi State, addressing critical aspects of the lives of our people,” Ododo stated. He assured that under his administration, no one is above the law and urged those in positions of authority to familiarize themselves with the provisions of the new laws.
