Tinubu Consoles Southern Kaduna over Demise of Traditional Ruler

President Bola Tinubu has extended his heartfelt condolences to the Asholyio people in Southern Kaduna, Kaduna State, following the demise of Dr. Tagwai Sambo, the Chief of Moroa. In a statement by his spokesman, Ajuri Ngelale, President Tinubu mourned the passing of the monarch, who was regarded as one of the longest-reigning traditional rulers in northern Nigeria, having been on the throne for 58 years.

 

The President noted the significant contributions of the late Dr. Sambo, highlighting his pivotal role in the establishment of Kaduna State University, where he served as the pioneer Chancellor. President Tinubu commended the late royal father for his life of selfless service, dedication to education, peacebuilding, and community development.

 

He prayed for the repose of Dr. Sambo’s soul and offered comfort to his family and all those whose lives he touched. The announcement of Dr. Sambo’s passing was made on Saturday in Manchok by the Palace Secretary, Mr. Iliya Avong. Dr. Sambo, who died at the age of 88, ascended the throne in 1966 at the age of 30 and also served as Commissioner for Works and Housing in the defunct North Regional Government.
