The Comptroller-General of Nigeria Customs Service, Adewale Adeniyi, announced that the agency’s revenue surged by 74% to N4.49 trillion over the past year. Adeniyi shared this at a press conference on Wednesday in Abuja, marking his one year in office.

Adeniyi noted the significant increase in revenue from N2.5 trillion recorded in the same period last year to N4.49 trillion. He attributed this growth to the Service’s enhanced collaboration with stakeholders and its commitment to the smooth implementation of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA).

He also emphasized the Service’s dedication to safeguarding Nigeria’s national security, vowing to continue efforts to eliminate smugglers and economic saboteurs.

Adeniyi took office as the Comptroller-General of the Customs Service in June 2023 following his appointment by President Bola Tinubu.
