Solomon Dalung, Nigeria’s former Minister of Sports and Youth Development, has raised concerns about President Bola Tinubu’s administration, suggesting it might be under siege by a cabal. Dalung questioned the sincerity of President Tinubu’s recent call for Nigerians to sacrifice, love, and believe in the country.

In a Sallah message to Muslims, President Tinubu urged Nigerians to make sacrifices for the nation. However, Dalung expressed skepticism, interpreting the call as a possible mockery of the masses’ suffering or a sign that Tinubu’s government is controlled by a cabal.

In a post on his X handle on Monday, Dalung criticized the President’s apparent disconnect from the hardships faced by ordinary Nigerians. He wrote:

“I listened to @officialABAT calling on Nigerians again to sacrifice, love, and believe in the country. Could this be mockery of the suffering of the masses, or he genuinely believes in what he was saying? If President Tinubu is sincere about what he’s saying, then it’s confirmation that his government is under siege by the notorious cabal.”

Dalung accused Tinubu of being out of touch with social realities and criticized his administration’s economic policies and governance style. He continued:

“Does President Tinubu know that Nigerians are suffering? Certainly not. His reckless economic policies, wasteful expenditures, plundering of resources, insensitivity to the plights of citizens, boastful and egoistic squandering of goodwill, adoption of corruption, and nepotism as state policies are the characteristics of this ignoble regime.

“Sacrifice should begin with @officialABAT and his jumbo size government, then Nigerians can take him seriously, but for now, it’s mere rhetoric and propaganda.”

Dalung’s comments reflect growing discontent with the administration and highlight concerns over the perceived influence of a powerful cabal within the government.
