The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has clarified the reasons behind the closure of the Batch B registration portal. In a news release on Tuesday, June 11, 2024, shared on the management’s official X account, the NYSC provided details on the situation.
The statement revealed, “Upon reaching the maximum number of PCMs required for the incoming batch in line with the carrying capacities of the 37 NYSC Orientation Camps nationwide, the portal was shut down accordingly.” This closure was necessary to ensure the alignment with the capacities of the orientation camps across the country.
The NYSC also addressed a technical issue that occurred on Saturday, June 8, 2024, when the registration portal experienced a glitch. Prospective Corps Members (PCMs) were promptly notified of the problem. The issue was resolved on the same day, allowing PCMs to continue their registration.
The NYSC extended an apology to those PCMs who were unable to complete their registration before the portal was closed. The management assured that the portal will reopen for the 2024 Batch B Stream II on a date to be announced later.
