Afrobeats singer Ruger has revealed that he has not driven since being involved in a serious car accident in 2023. During a recent guest appearance on The Road Show on Cool FM, Ruger opened up about the incident while discussing his new music.
“The last time I drove in Lagos, I had an accident. It was at night, we were playing around when it happened, and nobody actually knows about it. This is the first time I’m talking about it. The car tumbled like three times, but everyone was okay. This was last year, by the way,” Ruger recounted.
Ruger is not the only Nigerian celebrity who experienced a car accident last year. In July 2023, controversial singer Portable had an accident in his new G-Wagon in Osapa London, Lekki, on his way to his music studio.
Additionally, Nollywood actor Kelechi Udegbe was involved in a crash in November 2023 but fortunately escaped with minor injuries. The actor’s manager disclosed that the accident occurred late at night on Thursday, November 2, 2023. Videos and pictures posted online showed the car extensively damaged, with the rear tyres suspended in the air.
