Professor Ishaq Olarewaju Oloyede, the Registrar of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), recently convened a crucial meeting with several Computer-Based Test (CBT) centers regarding the rescheduling of the UTME 2024 exams. This decision follows the cancellation of exams at certain centers due to severe breaches of established guidelines.
Legit.ng reminds readers that the affected centers had their UTME 2024 exams canceled due to flagrant violations of examination procedures. Professor Oloyede explained that 24,535 candidates affected by the cancellations will now sit for the rescheduled exams later in June.
In a virtual meeting held on June 7, 2024, at the JAMB headquarters, Professor Oloyede emphasized the importance of adherence to strict guidelines by the CBT centers tasked with conducting the additional UTME. He cautioned against any infractions that could jeopardize the integrity of the examination and potentially lead to sanctions from JAMB.
The registrar expressed disappointment over the reported complacency and laxity observed in some centers during the previous exams, asserting that JAMB will not tolerate actions that tarnish its reputation. He reiterated that the decision to reschedule the exams was made with the aim of ensuring fairness and avoiding undue hardship for innocent candidates affected by the cancellations.
