An ex-wife to the late magistrate, Muhammed Attahiru Ibrahim Zagga, Farida Abubakar, has been sentenced to death by hanging for his murder by the High Court 1 Birnin Kebbi in Kebbi State.
According to the chief magistrate of the court, Justice Umar Abubakar, who delivered the judgement, the court was convinced beyond reasonable doubt that the accused person committed the offence based on the evidence brought by the prosecutor.
Justice Abubakar said Farida Abubakar who was accused of killing her former husband, Muhammed Attahiru Ibrahim Zagga, has been sentenced to death by hanging on the neck until she dies by section 191( b) of penal code law of Kebbi State.
Before the judgement, Farida Abubakar was arrested by the police sometime late last year in 2023 and, after investigation, reported to the court for protection.
