Governor Bassey Otu of Cross River State has revealed that President Bola Tinubu has provided unprecedented financial support to revamp the renowned Obudu Mountain Resort, which had been neglected due to debts and other issues.

During a press briefing last September, marking his first 100 days in office, Governor Otu shared that President Tinubu instructed him to ensure the restoration of the Resort, envisioning it as his “Camp David” in Nigeria.

In his first-anniversary speech, Otu highlighted the significant progress made towards reviving the resort and other inherited projects. “My bold return to the Obudu Ranch Resort has garnered unprecedented support from President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, with financial backing that surpasses all previous administrations combined,” he stated.

To boost the resort’s appeal, Otu announced that the Obudu International Mountain Race would resume as part of the Carnival Calabar in November 2024. Additionally, he noted ongoing efforts to complete the Obudu Cargo Airport and enhance the CallyAir fleet with five new airplanes to address air traffic challenges.
