Interswitch Career Fair 3.0 Empowers Nigerian Talent for Future Workforce

Interswitch Group has reinforced its dedication to empowering young Nigerians in their career journeys through the recently concluded Interswitch Career Fair 3.0. The event, held on May 25, 2024, at the Landmark Event Centre in Lagos, focused on “Reimagining Work: People, Culture, Technology,” offering valuable resources and insights for career-driven individuals to thrive in today’s evolving workplace.

The fair featured distinguished experts from various fields including Finance, Technology, Sales, Marketing, and Human Resources. The first panel session included industry leaders such as Robinta Aluyi, VP Sales and Account Management at Interswitch; Elizabeth Okonji, Founder of TGL Labs; Ivie Temitayo-Ibitoye, Head of Employee Experience at Sahara Group; and Adora Ikwuemesi, Founder of Kendor Consulting. These experts shared career development advice and strategies, answering questions from attendees.

Mitchell Elegbe, Founder and Group Managing Director of Interswitch Group, emphasized the importance of the career fair in discovering and nurturing talent to drive innovative solutions in Nigeria and Africa’s labor market. “The Interswitch Career Fair supports talents who can take full responsibility for leadership, good management, and deliver great impact in any organization,” said Elegbe.

Franklin Ali, Chief Human Resource Officer at Interswitch Nigeria, highlighted that the fair is designed not only for job seekers but also to equip top talent with necessary skills for today’s workplace. Ali noted the importance of collaboration, mentioning partnerships with organizations like LinkedIn, ProductDive, ALX, Oscar Temple, Kendor, Udemy, Decagon, and Semicolon to broaden opportunities for attendees.

In her keynote address, Debola Deji-Kurunmi, Founder of IMMERSE Coaching Company, called the event an excellent opportunity for individuals to leverage cutting-edge technology and productivity tools to advance their careers.

The event’s second panel session focused on building a tech career, featuring insights from Obinna Onuekwusi, Divisional Head of Technology Innovation at Interswitch; Lanre Basamta, Co-Founder of Optimus AI Labs; and Sikemi Tayo, CEO of KIT for Professionals. They provided tips for aspiring tech professionals on understanding innovation and networking within tech communities.

The fair concluded with a Job Fair session, offering attendees interactive one-on-one sessions, mentorship, and talent assessments with Interswitch experts, emphasizing the company’s commitment to supporting Nigerian youth.
