Delta Police Arrest Notorious Cultist and Kidnapper, “Small Juju”

The Delta State Police Command’s Special Squad has arrested 34-year-old Emmanuel John Aisewowhion, also known as “Small Juju,” an alleged cultist and kidnapper, in Ughelli North Local Government Area. The arrest, announced by SP Bright Edafe, the command’s spokesperson, took place on Tuesday, May 28, 2024.

According to the statement, Aisewowhion is a member of the notorious Eiye confraternity cult group. A Beretta pistol was recovered from his apartment during the arrest.

The statement reads: “Acting on revelations by some of the suspects arrested in connection to kidnapping and cultism by the command’s special squad deployed to Ughelli, on 24/05/2024 at about 1635hrs, the special team led by ASP Julius Robinson trailed and arrested one Emmanuel John Aisewowhion ‘m’ a.k.a “Small Juju“ aged 34yrs, a native of Ewohimi community Esan-South East LGA of Edo State, but resident at Uwagba Community in Okpe LGA, Delta State.”

The police revealed that the recovered Beretta pistol was linked to Goodluck Sakutu, a suspected gun runner who is already in custody. “Investigation further revealed that Aisewowhion is a member of the Eiye confraternity and he got the gun from one Goodluck Sakutu, a suspected gun runner already in custody. Serious efforts to arrest other members of his gang are ongoing.”

The arrest of Aisewowhion marks a significant breakthrough in the fight against cultism and kidnapping in Delta State. The police’s continued efforts to dismantle criminal networks in the region have been met with widespread approval from the community.

Residents of Ughelli North have expressed relief and hope that the arrest will lead to further crackdowns on criminal activities in the area. Local leaders have commended the police for their dedication and urged continued vigilance to ensure the safety and security of the community.

Delta State Commissioner of Police, CP Wale Abass, reiterated the command’s commitment to maintaining law and order in the state. “The Delta State Police Command is determined to rid the state of criminal elements. We will continue to pursue and apprehend those who threaten the peace and safety of our citizens. The arrest of ‘Small Juju’ is a testament to our resolve,” he stated.

Community leaders in Ughelli North have also called for increased cooperation between the public and law enforcement agencies. They urged residents to provide timely information that could help in apprehending other members of Aisewowhion’s gang and preventing future crimes.

As the investigation continues, the police have assured the public that all efforts are being made to bring the remaining members of the gang to justice. The arrest of “Small Juju” is seen as a pivotal step in restoring peace and security in the affected areas.
