Governor Agbu Kefas of Taraba State has inaugurated a committee to investigate the activities of the Taraba Television Station following the recent suspension of its general manager.

The committee was inaugurated by the Taraba State Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Yakubu Maikasuwa, who urged its members to adhere strictly to their terms of reference. He emphasized the importance of conducting their investigation fairly and without engaging in witch-hunting.

The committee’s terms of reference include:

Investigating Revenue Inflows: Assessing the station’s revenue from advertisements and other streams.

Evaluating Sustainability Strategies: Examining the strategies used to reduce debt and save costs.

Assessing Operational Status: Investigating the reasons behind the station being off the air for an extended period.

Examining Management Issues: Investigating alleged insubordination and the failure to use part of the monthly overhead to reduce debt.

Recommending Future Directions: Advising on whether the station should pursue full or partial commercialization for self-sustainability.

The five-man committee is headed by Justice Hamidu Audu, with Liberty Andrew serving as the secretary. The committee has invited the public, staff of the station, and professional unions to submit memoranda to assist in their investigation.
