A prominent member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and former Minister of State for Mines and Steel Development, Dr. Uche Sampson Ogah, has criticized the deceptive practices of many leaders in Abia State, arguing that such behavior is damaging the party’s electoral chances.

Ogah made these remarks over the weekend while speaking to journalists after a comprehensive meeting of APC stakeholders in Abia, held in Umuahia, the state capital.

“The way forward is peace in the party. That has to unite every leader in the party. Because if there is no peace, we are going nowhere,” Ogah stated. “And I can tell you free of charge that what we need in Abia APC is peace and sincerity of purpose. It’s not about lying to the people; it’s about telling people the truth. Once you are sincere, the party will move forward.”

He emphasized that the party’s stagnation in Abia is largely due to the insincerity of many of its leaders. “The leader of the party should be able to put everybody together, bring all of us to the same table, present every issue openly, and we should tell ourselves the truth,” Ogah added.
