SubseaRobotix has announced a strategic partnership with TSC Subsea, a global leader in ROV-deployed robotic underwater inspection technology, to bring advanced robotic solutions to the Nigerian market. This collaboration aims to address the growing need for sophisticated inspection technology in the country’s subsea and deepwater engineering sectors.
Recently, TSC Subsea’s Global Sales Director, Jonathan Bancroft, and Marketing Manager for Europe and Africa, Michel Bezemer, visited their Nigerian counterparts in Lagos. The meeting, held at the Radisson SAS Hotel on Victoria Island, Lagos, was focused on strengthening the partnership and understanding the specific needs of the local market.
Bello Salihu, Chief Technology Officer of SubseaRobotix, alongside Wale Olagundoye, SubseaRobotix’s Director of Sales, warmly welcomed the TSC Subsea team. Salihu emphasized that the partnership is geared towards providing Nigerian clients with advanced robotic technology for the inspection of subsea engineering assets.
“Our partnership with TSC Subsea offers Nigerian clients ROV-developed Advanced Non-Destructive Testing (ANDT) solutions for the integrity inspection of subsea assets,” said Salihu, a fellow of the British Institute of Non-Destructive Testing and a seasoned expert in subsea asset integrity.
Bancroft highlighted the strategic importance of Nigeria to TSC Subsea, noting the alignment of their advanced solutions with the rising demand for robotic inspections in West Africa. “Nigeria is a critical market for TSC Subsea, and with the increase in subsea robotic inspections in the region, our solutions are perfectly suited. We look forward to a long and fruitful partnership,” he stated.
He also expressed gratitude to SubseaRobotix for a successful week of customer visits and discussions, highlighting the urgent need for driverless and non-human intervention in deepwater operations. “Our robotic solutions and TSC Subsea’s proprietary technologies are designed to address these challenges efficiently,” Bancroft added.
Wale Olagundoye, Director of Sales at SubseaRobotix, was pleased with the outcomes of the meetings held during TSC Subsea’s visit. “We are very happy with the outcomes of the various meetings held with our potential clients. The action-packed week with back-to-back meetings with operators exceeded our expectations,” he said.
Michel Bezemer emphasized the benefits of direct interactions with local asset owners in Nigeria. “Meeting local asset owners allowed us to discuss their inspection challenges in detail and present the solutions TSC Subsea offers. Face-to-face meetings provide an excellent opportunity for open discussions and immediate problem-solving with our bespoke Subsea robotic ANDT offerings,” Bezemer noted.
