The Adamawa State Police Command has brought five individuals identified as members of the notorious “Shila Boys” gang before the court. This group has gained notoriety for terrorizing residents by robbing them of their possessions, particularly phones and other light gadgets.

According to the police spokesperson, Suleiman Nguroje, the suspects had long been on the radar of law enforcement and were finally apprehended during routine operations targeting criminal hideouts and black spots across Yola, including Yola Market, Wuro Hausa, and Damare in Yola Town, Yola South Local Government Area.

Nguroje emphasized the seriousness of the charges against the arrested individuals, stating, “Those apprehended were on the wanted list of the Command for Shila gangsterism. They are currently under investigation to ensure that the law takes its course.”

In light of this development, the police command urged members of the public to collaborate in the fight against Shila Boys by remaining vigilant and promptly reporting any suspicious activities.

The statement issued by the Command underscored the importance of community involvement in maintaining law and order: “If you see something, say something; and the police will do something.”
