Benneth Igweh, the Police Commissioner of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), has thrown his support behind SLTV, a Nigerian-owned pay television service, in a move to ensure officers and men across the FCT have access to timely news and information.

During a courtesy visit by a delegation from Metrodigital Limited, the operators of SLTV, Commissioner Igweh announced the approval for the installation of SLTV decoders and satellite dishes in all police divisions under the FCT Command. This initiative extends to all six Area Commands in the territory, solidifying SLTV’s reach within the law enforcement community.

Commending SLTV for providing an indigenous alternative to costly and monopolistic satellite pay TV services, Commissioner Igweh emphasized the importance of supporting homegrown brands committed to offering affordable entertainment solutions for Nigerians.

In a bid to further cater to the needs of Nigerian consumers, Commissioner Igweh encouraged SLTV to explore innovations such as Pay-As-You-Go services, a feature commonly seen in other countries.

Leading the delegation, Princess Nikky Onyeri, Chief Operating Officer of Camroll Quest Ltd, expressed gratitude for Commissioner Igweh’s support and presented SLTV decoders and dishes. She highlighted SLTV’s offerings, including over 50 HD channels and live sports broadcasts, showcasing its appeal to a wide audience.

SLTV, launched by the Federal Government in March to promote competition in the satellite pay television sector, has rapidly gained traction for its affordable packages and diverse content offerings. The Secretary to the Government of the Federation, George Akume, commended SLTV for its value proposition and reiterated the government’s commitment to supporting the venture.
