In a legal proceeding at the Iyaganku Magistrates’ Court in Ibadan, Samuel Oyetayo, aged 35, faced arraignment for purportedly forging the Oyo government hackney permit and ticket.
Oyetayo, the defendant, entered a plea of not guilty to the charge of forgery of the hackney permit presented before the court.
According to the prosecutor, Toyin Ibrahim, the alleged offence occurred on May 1 in the vicinity of the Dugbe area in Ibadan. Ibrahim asserted that the defendant, without the government’s authorization, forged the permit and ticket on the specified date and location.
The prosecutor cited the violation of section 467 of the Criminal Laws of Oyo State, 2000, in connection with the alleged offence.
In response, Magistrate Kausarat Ayofe granted the defendant bail in the sum of N50,000, requiring two sureties to provide a similar amount for bail.
The case has been adjourned until June 24 for further proceedings and hearing.
