Bandit Attack Claims 6 Lives, Leaves 8 Injured in Kaduna

Six individuals tragically lost their lives, and eight others sustained injuries following an assault by suspected bandits in the Ambe community of Sanga Local Government Area, Kaduna State, on Sunday night.

Mansir Hassan, spokesperson for the Kaduna Police Command, and Danie Amos, the representative of Jema’a/Sanga Federal Constituency, both confirmed the harrowing attack on the community.

Hassan stated that police personnel from the Sanga Divisional Police Station and troops from Operation Safe Haven promptly responded to distress calls from the community, engaging the bandits in a fierce gun battle.

The police spokesperson further revealed that security forces succeeded in apprehending one of the assailants, while the others managed to escape, albeit with gunshot wounds.

Rep Amos, echoing the confirmation of the attack, lamented the loss of six lives at the hands of the bandits. He also disclosed that eight individuals sustained injuries and are currently undergoing medical treatment at the hospital.

In his statement, Amos emphasized the importance of fostering peaceful coexistence among diverse communities, urging swift action by security agencies to apprehend the perpetrators and ensure justice is served. He emphasized that safeguarding the people’s safety remains paramount, pledging his commitment as a representative to work tirelessly in collaboration with stakeholders to secure the community.

Expressing heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families, the Arak chiefdom, Sanga Local Government Area, and the state government, Amos also extended prayers for the swift recovery of the injured victims.
