Veteran Nollywood actress, Shan George, has raised alarm over the alleged theft of ₦3.6 million from her bank account by an individual identified as Cecilia Chiagoziem Okoro.
In a statement released on her Instagram page, the actress revealed that she is now financially distressed and called on Nigerians to assist her in recovering her money. She posted a screenshot of the debit alert and expressed her desperation, stating, “I need help cos I’m dying. This person has just cleared my account. Please my people, everyone please help. Please Zenith Bank, Reverse it. I can’t access my app. I’m Dead”
George further pleaded for assistance from the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), the Nigeria Police Force (NPF), and Zenith Bank to intervene in the matter.
In a video accompanying her plea, Shan George identified Cecilia Chiagoziem Okoro as the alleged perpetrator who transferred the funds into an Opay account. She implored Zenith Bank and Opay to assist her in recovering the stolen funds, expressing her dire situation as she exclaimed, “I don’t have any kobo anywhere again, what will I eat? I no fit beg, I beg una, make una help me. EFCC, Nigerian Police, abeg, I don’t know the authorities, Zenith bank, I am begging you people.”
The actress stressed that the incident occurred just an hour before she made the distress call on May 3rd.
