On Monday, the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) unveiled the outcomes of the 2024 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME). Prof Ishaq Oloyede, the Registrar of JAMB, disclosed this information during a press conference held in Abuja.
According to Oloyede, a total of 1,989,668 candidates registered for the examination, marking a significant increase of 24.7% compared to the figures from 2023. Out of this total, 1,904,189 candidates were present and verified, while 2,899 candidates were present but unverified, and 80,810 candidates were reported missing.
For candidates eager to access their results, JAMB has provided two convenient methods: via SMS or through the official JAMB portal.
Checking Results via Phone Number:
Candidates can easily check their overall JAMB scores by simply entering the phone number used during registration. To do so, they need to send an SMS with the phrase ‘UTME RESULT’ or ‘UTMERESULT’ to either 55019 or 66019, using the same phone number. It’s crucial to ensure that there is a minimum airtime balance of N50 before initiating the SMS request. Following this, the candidate will promptly receive an SMS response containing their results.
Checking Results via JAMB Portal:
Alternatively, candidates can access their JAMB results by visiting the official JAMB result-checking portal. Here’s how:
- Enter your JAMB Registration Number or Email Address on the portal.
- Click on the “Check My Result” or a similar button.
- Subsequently, your results will be displayed on the screen for you to view and take note of.
With these straightforward methods in place, candidates can swiftly ascertain their UTME results either through SMS or the JAMB official portal, facilitating a seamless process for all involved.
