Two persons has been killed in a recent attack by some men suspected to be Fulani herdsmen, on Sunday night, at a community in Agatu Local Government Area of Benue State.
The victims identified as Agness Salahu, 28; and Ademu Efugoga, 25, as gathered by reporters were attacked between Egba and Ogbaulu communities of Agatu on their way from an event around 6pm.
Barrister Napoleon Otache, a cousin to the deceased, who confirmed the incident to newsmen, lamented that Agatu is currently under siege.
He lamented on the lack of security presence in the area while the attackers continue to unleash terror on the land.
“This insecurity in our land has assumed a dangerous dimension.
“Help of the federal government is urgently needed as Agatu and Apa enclave has been under siege by the fulani terrorists.”
As at the time of this report, concerted efforts made to confirm the incident from Benue State Police Command PRO, SP Catherine Anene, proved fruitless.
