Chief Obinna Atuonu, the organising secretary of the Abia state chapter of the All Progressives Congress, has been confirmed dead after collapsing in church. The 65-year-old politician passed away during a church service in Aba while addressing the parishioners.
Reports indicate that his only surviving brother, Dr. Chiedozie Atuonu, received a call to urgently travel from Umuahia to Aba. Upon arrival, he discovered his brother in critical condition and was rushed to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The news of Chief Obinna Atuonu’s untimely d£ath has sent shockwaves through the political community and beyond. As the APC mourns the loss of a dedicated member, his body has been deposited at the mortuary as arrangements are made for his final rites.
