Nathan Tella, reflecting on his departure from Arsenal, admitted that leaving the club at a young age was a challenging experience for him. After spending a decade honing his skills in the Gunners’ academy, Tella was released in 2017, despite also facing rejection from Reading and Norwich City.

However, he found an opportunity at Southampton, where he made his Premier League debut before moving to Bayer Leverkusen last summer. Tella confessed to feeling embarrassed after being told to leave Arsenal, expressing disbelief as the club had been his home since the age of six when he was scouted.

He described the decision as tough, unsure whether to stay and try to change Arsenal’s mind or explore other options through trials. Ultimately, with guidance from his family and agent, he chose to step out of his comfort zone and seek opportunities elsewhere.
