The Anti-kidnapping, Human Trafficking, Child Abuse, and Drug Abuse Initiative (AKH-TRACADA) has issued a plea for immediate measures to combat illicit substance abuse, drug trafficking, human trafficking, and organ harvesting in Nigeria. In a statement released on Friday, AKH-TRACADA emphasized the urgency of addressing these pressing issues.
Highlighting the complexity of combating human trafficking, AKH-TRACADA stressed the importance of collaboration among governments, law enforcement agencies, civil society organizations, and individuals. The organization expressed alarm over the increasing prevalence of human trafficking, particularly in African countries like Nigeria, which has a vast population exceeding 200 million.
AKH-TRACADA called upon the federal government to enhance preventive and enforcement measures to tackle the scourge of human trafficking effectively. Additionally, the organization recommended implementing stringent measures against parents who collaborate with traffickers to exploit their children.
