American rapper Soulja Boy has emerged as a potential buyer for the popular social media platform TikTok, following concerns over its potential ban in the United States. Soulja Boy’s interest comes after U.S. President Joe Biden signed a foreign aid package into law, stipulating that TikTok could face a ban in the U.S. if not sold within nine months due to its Chinese ownership.

Expressing his dismay over the new law, Soulja Boy criticized the decision to ban TikTok and warned of the precedent it sets for potential bans on other apps or websites in the future. He voiced his concerns on his X handle, urging followers to take the matter seriously.

In a lighthearted manner, Soulja Boy later joked about acquiring TikTok himself, proposing to buy the platform in a post directed at TikTok’s official account.

“How much y’all want for TikTok? I’ll buy it. @tiktok_us,” he wrote.

TikTok, on the other hand, has vowed to challenge the law in court, describing it as unconstitutional. A spokesperson for the app, Alex Haurek, emphasized their commitment to legal action and reiterated their stance against the ban.

As the fate of TikTok hangs in the balance, Soulja Boy’s playful interest in acquiring the platform adds a unique twist to the ongoing debate surrounding its future in the United States.
