Following the circulation of viral videos depicting incidents of bullying at the Lead British International School in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory Police Command has taken proactive measures by deploying officers to the school premises.
In response to public outcry over the videos, the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh, announced on Tuesday that seasoned officers have been assigned to investigate the incidents and prevent any potential disruption of peace and order.
A third video depicting another case of bullying emerged on Tuesday, showing male students surrounding a boy in casual attire and physically assaulting him. The emergence of this video further intensified concerns over the safety and well-being of students at the school.
The initial videos, posted by an X user on Monday night, showed a female student being repeatedly slapped by another female classmate, prompting calls for justice for the victim and widespread condemnation of the incident on social media.
In response to the outcry, the management of Lead British International School, Abuja, issued a statement on Tuesday, announcing that they had initiated an investigation into the matter.
