Music producer Dr. Roy has asserted that gospel artist Mercy Chinwo was unaware of the unfair treatment he experienced from the record label boss they both previously worked with.
During an interview on The Honest Bunch Podcast, Dr. Roy accused Ezekiel ThankGod, also known as EeZee Tee, the owner of Eezee Concept Records where Mercy Chinwo was signed, of maltreatment. Dr. Roy alleged that despite producing hit tracks like ‘Excess Love’ for Mercy Chinwo, he faced financial withholding from EeZee Tee.
Dr. Roy clarified that Mercy Chinwo was not aware of the situation, stating, “For the onset, Mercy did not know what was happening.” He expressed uncertainty about the reasons for Mercy Chinwo’s departure from the label but suggested that similar maltreatment might have occurred.
However, Dr. Roy emphasized that he refrained from informing Mercy Chinwo about the maltreatment, indicating his respect for her talent and character. He recounted an instance where Mercy Chinwo extended support to him upon learning about his father’s health issues, demonstrating her kindness and generosity.
In a video posted on his Instagram, Dr. Roy reiterated his admiration for Mercy Chinwo and clarified that his remarks were directed towards the record label owner, not the artist. He denied allegations that Mercy Chinwo refused to assist him at any point.
