Pastor Olugbenga Olawore, a clergyman affiliated with the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), has been released from captivity after being abducted by armed assailants.
Addressing the public, Oyo State’s commissioner for information, Prince Dotun Oyelade, affirmed the state’s commitment to ensuring security within its borders. He reassured residents of the effectiveness of the state’s security apparatus.
Confirming the incident, Oyelade disclosed that Pastor Olawore and others were kidnapped along the Lanlate-Eruwa Road in the Maya area, all within Oyo State’s jurisdiction.
The commissioner emphasized that the state government, in collaboration with law enforcement agencies led by the Commissioner of Police, Bola Hamzat, promptly responded to the abduction. He reiterated their dedication to safeguarding the lives and property of citizens.
Furthermore, Oyelade reiterated Oyo State’s reputation as one of the most peaceful states in the country, underscoring ongoing efforts to maintain peace and security across the region.
