Habeeb Okikiola, widely known as Portable, has made a heartfelt plea to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to pardon him for his actions of spraying money on his fans. This plea comes in the wake of the recent six-month jail sentence handed to crossdresser Okuneye Idris, popularly known as Bobrisky, for a Naira Mutilation offense.
Portable’s reputation for generosity, particularly his claim of giving almost N2 million daily to his followers in spray paint, has garnered attention. Despite initially defending his actions as acts of kindness, Portable now expresses remorse and seeks forgiveness.
In a recent live chat, the street artist, visibly apprehensive about the potential consequences of footage showing him showering cash, appealed for leniency from both the government and the EFCC. He pledged to cease the practice of money spraying and instead encouraged his supporters to open bank accounts, committing to providing financial assistance through transfers rather than physical cash.
“I didn’t deface the Naira, I help a lot of people, after God na government, please forgive me if you have videos of me spraying money, no more spraying of money,” he pleaded.
