In response to the tragic boat mishap that claimed the lives of five individuals, including actor Junior Pope, during a movie shoot, the Association of Movie Producers (AMP) has taken decisive action by suspending one of its members, Adanma Luke.
The incident, which occurred on April 10 in Asaba, Delta State, saw Junior Pope and four others tragically lose their lives after falling into the River Niger while en route to a filming location. Junior Pope was slated to star in an upcoming film produced by Adanma Luke.
In a statement released by AMP and signed by its national president, Queen Blessing Ebigieson, the organization expressed condolences to the families of the deceased and announced the formation of a nine-member committee to investigate the circumstances surrounding the tragic deaths.
The statement emphasized that Adanma Luke has been advised to suspend all work pending the submission of the investigation report and the final decision by the committee.
The AMP’s statement reads, “Following this tragic incident, AMP has set up a nine-man committee to investigate all activities that led to the death of these practitioners on the set of the movie, Another Side of Life! Meanwhile, the producer, Adanma Luke, is hereby advised to suspend all work pending on the submission of the investigations report, and the final decision is taken.”
