The National Civil Society Council of Nigeria (NCSCN) has lauded President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his steadfast support of Air Peace and other local airline operators, emphasizing the crucial importance of Nigerians patronizing indigenous airlines to bolster the Naira.

During a press briefing in Abuja on Monday, NCSCN’s executive director, Comr. Blessing Akinlosotu, urged the federal government to consider bestowing Air Peace with a National Honors award. Akinlosotu highlighted Air Peace’s commendable track record of genuine and substantial contributions to the nation, particularly citing the recent reduction in airfare on the Lagos-London route. This move has garnered widespread support from Nigerians and has encouraged a shift towards indigenous patronage in air transportation.

Akinlosotu emphasized the urgent need for the federal government and all well-meaning Nigerians to step up efforts to protect Air Peace and other indigenous airlines from the challenges posed by international aero-politics and pricing warfare by foreign carriers.

Furthermore, Akinlosotu highlighted the growing prominence and effective business strategies of Nigerian operators, noting their impressive global flight operation records with countries such as China, UAE, Israel, Brazil, South Africa, and India. These accomplishments underscore the potential and capabilities of Nigerian airlines in the international aviation arena.
