The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) carried out a precision airstrike on ISWAP terrorists’ hideouts in Kolleram village, along Lake Chad, as part of Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK). The April 13 airstrike, detailed in a statement by AVM Edward Gabkwet, resulted in the neutralization of over 30 insurgents, including senior commanders like Ali Dawud, Bakura Fallujah, and Mallam Ari.
The successful operation, a decisive blow against terrorism in the North-East, was confirmed through a Battle Damage Assessment (BDA) post-strike, revealing the destruction of terrorist infrastructure and logistical assets. The aerial bombardment also targeted a key facility within the Kolleram enclave, disrupting ISWAP’s food processing activities.
The airstrikes, aimed at eradicating terrorism and safeguarding Nigerian citizens, underscore NAF’s commitment to the fight against insurgency. By neutralizing key terrorist figures and destroying their logistical infrastructure, the operation significantly degrades ISWAP’s operational capabilities in the region.
These airstrikes complement ground forces’ ongoing efforts in the Lake Chad flank and represent a crucial advancement in Nigeria’s counterterrorism strategy.
