Man, 52, Arraigned for Allegedly Stealing Batteries Worth N2m

Bamidele Adeleke, aged 52, appeared before a Grade ‘A’ Customary Court in Iyaganku, Ibadan, on Monday, facing allegations of stealing 200 high voltage batteries valued at N2 million.

The accused, whose address was not disclosed, is facing charges of theft.

According to the Prosecutor, Mr. Philip Amusan, Adeleke committed the offence on April 8 in the vicinity of the University of Ibadan.

Amusan further alleged that Adeleke stole the batteries belonging to I.H.S Telecommunications, in violation of Section 390(9) of the Criminal Laws of Oyo State, 2000.

Adeleke pleaded not guilty to the charge.

Presiding over the case, Court President Mrs. Moji Aworemi granted the defendant bail in the sum of N500,000, requiring two sureties in a like sum.
