Ifeoma Ivy, the girlfriend of P-Square singer Paul Okoye, has unequivocally refuted allegations of being involved in the breakup of Anita Okoye’s marriage to the musician. In a statement shared on her Instagram story on April 14, 2024, she clarified that her relationship with the singer only commenced after his divorce from Anita had been officially finalized. Addressing the rumors head-on, she emphasized that she had no role in the dissolution of Paul Okoye’s previous marriage.
Her Instagram post read, “I don’t have to do this at all, but I will cause I’ve never really said a word about it and it seems a lot of you are addicted to misinformation. I met/got into a relationship with a very SINGLE man.” Ivy further asserted, “I was nowhere in the picture when they got separated or divorced. And I certainly do not have time to chase people from their houses Aburo kwanu m ogbanje. So my dear, yes, I sleep well at night. ATP, any other nonsense you choose to believe/ circulate just means you’re a witch.”
This public declaration comes amidst persistent speculation and criticism directed towards Ivy for her relationship with Paul Okoye. Back in January 2024, during an interview with Cool FM, she had already addressed the hurtful remarks aimed at her, particularly those labeling her as a home wrecker. Expressing her dismay at such accusations, she questioned the origin of these claims and refuted any involvement in the breakdown of the singer’s previous marriage.
The dissolution of Paul Okoye’s marriage to Anita was officially confirmed in December 2022, marking the end of an eight-year union. The couple, who first crossed paths during their undergraduate years at the University of Abuja in 2004, exchanged vows on March 22, 2014, in Port Harcourt, Rivers State. Their marriage bore three children: Andre, born in 2013, and twins Nathan and Nadia, born in 2017. During the divorce proceedings, Anita sought a $20,000 monthly settlement along with various luxurious properties owned by her former husband.
